I’m a graduate of Princeton University and USC Film School, where I earned an MFA in film production. Since then, I wrote and directed a film called Alchemy that won the Grand Jury Prize at the SXSW Film Festival, worked in film, television, and podcasting as a writer and producer, and published two young adult novels (I’m From Nowhere, and Stone Cove Island) with Soho Press in New York.

For about ten years, I consulted on television and film development for Condé Nast Publications, where I developed the documentary The September Issue for Vogue Magazine,  among other projects, and served as executive producer of broadband video for Condé Nast Digital. I also taught screenwriting and filmmaking at NYU and at the Maine Photographic Workshop.

As an alumna, I conducted admission interviews for Princeton for over twenty years. I love meeting teenagers, finding out who they are, and helping them figure out where they want to go in life. I became really interested in college admissions while helping my own children (who ended up at Oberlin and Bard). I’m an obsessive researcher, and as I learned more about the process, friends and then friends-of-friends began to ask for my help with their children’s essays and college decisions.

My husband and I split time between Brooklyn, NY and Norfolk, CT, with our three dogs. I’m continuing to write novels, and love to ride and show my horse Zuzu.
